Q. What is DGIQ?

A. The Data Governance & Information Quality Conference (DGIQ) is the world’s largest event dedicated entirely to Data Governance and Information Quality. Whether you are a newcomer or an experienced data professional, DGIQ offers practical case studies, advice from experts, and in-depth how-to tutorials.

Q. When and where will the next DGIQ West take place?

A. 2024's DGIQ West will take place June 3-7 at the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa in San Diego, CA. 

With the picturesque Mission Bay in your backyard and the Pacific Ocean across the street, there's no better choice among San Diego hotels than the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa. The resort is only 8 miles from San Diego International Airport, and when you are ready to venture out into America’s Finest City, you're only 3 miles from SeaWorld San Diego, 12 miles from the world-famous San Diego Zoo, and 28 miles from LEGOLAND California.

Q. What makes DGIQ so special?

A. DGIQ is not just a regular business conference – it’s an ongoing community and network of Data Governance and Information Quality professionals. As with all DATAVERSITY conferences, the educational program emphasizes peer-to-peer learning through the sharing of case studies and practical experience. 

Q. Who attends DGIQ? 

A. Good question! In terms of industries, every major sector of the economy is represented, though the largest industry groups are usually financial services, insurance, health care, online commerce, and government. The range of job titles and functions is also very diverse, including chief data officers, VP and director-level IT executives, data architects, analysts, auditors, and consultants. And increasingly, this DGIQ event attracts managers from “the business side,” who now make up almost 50% of the audience.

Q. How is June's DGIQ different from December's DGIQ? 

A. June's DGIQ in San Diego, CA, has long been the largest and most comprehensive event dedicated to Data Governance and Information Quality, and we expect this to continue. December's DGIQ will have a few more sessions relevant to Federal government and financial industry attendees, simply because of proximity to those attendee groups, but otherwise, the two events are very similar in structure and focus, outside of the different locations and seasons. 

Q. What takes place each day?

A. We kick off with Half-Day Tutorials on Monday morning and afternoon (June 3).

The Conference Program (including Conference Sessions and Keynotes) takes place Tuesday-Wednesday (June 4-5). That is also when you can join our sponsors on the exhibit floor!

And we end the week with Full-Day Tutorials taking place Thursday (June 6) and/or 2-Day Seminars taking place Thursday-Friday (June 6-7). 

Q. What's the difference between the Thursday Full-Day Tutorial and Seminar? 

A. Your registration option will include either a Full-Day Tutorial (taking place Thursday only)or a 2-Day Seminar (taking place Thursday-Friday).It will not include both. If you’re unsure which you'd like to attend or which registration option to select, please email registration@dataversity.net. 

Q. How do I get to speak at the conference?

A. Most of the sessions are selected through a Call for Presentations (CFP) process. Our CFP for 2024's DGIQ West has now officially closed, and our agenda has been finalized, but you are welcome to submit at this link to be considered if we need a replacement session! 

Additionally, some sessions, such as Keynotes and Panels, are developed through specific invitations to the speakers. There are also some vendor speaking sessions that are identified on the program agenda as “sponsored.”

Q. Who is sponsoring? 

A. See our full list of sponsors here. Join them on the exhibit floor during the posted hours Tuesday through Wednesday, and make sure to join our Exhibit Reception Tuesday evening for light appetizers and cocktails + networking!

Q. Do you offer CDMP® testing at this event?

A. DGIQ satisfies the continuing education requirements of the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP®) credential. DGIQ 2024 West will also offer time slots for attendees to take CDMP Exams (time slots to be announced). See our Certification Page for more details. 

Q. Does my registration include meals? 

A. Yes! Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks (a morning and afternoon break) are included for any days you're registered Monday through Friday. Dinner is not included. 

Q. Will my registration include access to any recorded sessions?

A. All in-person registrants* receive access to DATAVERSITY Training Center's Essential Subscription for one year, which includes DGIQ 2024 West's recorded sessions and all face-to-face conference presentations + webinars, podcast episodes, product demos, case studies, and online conferences, as well as the complete catalog of “What Is…” on-demand courses, and all related insider content.

Essential Subscription access will be shared via email shortly after the event, with DGIQ West videos becoming available within 4 weeks of the event.

*Applicable to all in-person registrations with the exception of the Exhibit Booth Pass registration option.

Q. What if I can't attend in person? 

A. We will offer three non-attendee subscription options via our registration page that will include access to all of the sessions recorded at DGIQ 2024 West, so you can watch on-demand in the comfort of your own home or office!

Access to all Non-Attendee Packages/Subscriptions will be shared via email within 2 weeks of the event, with DGIQ West videos becoming available within 4 weeks of the event.

Q. What COVID-19 protocols will be implemented at DGIQ West?

A. In reviewing the current COVID-19 guidelines from the CDC, and the specific requirements in place in San Diego, CA, we will not be requiring proof of vaccination or negative testing to attend this event. 

DATAVERSITY still recommends that all attendees take measures to manage their own health risks and protect themselves by wearing face coverings (masks) indoors and being vaccinated with the latest available boosters at least two weeks prior to attending the conference.

Q. What if COVID-19 requirements change in San Diego?

A. If conditions around COVID-19 change such that stricter protocols are required by any health authority with jurisdiction in San Diego, CA, then we will notify attendees immediately.
